TSMC, which produces all Apple Silicon chips, will benefit from a $6.6 billion grant from the US Commerce Department to build a third factory in Phoenix, Arizona, the White House announced. With a goal of opening in 2030, this new factory will produce chips at a fineness of 2 nanometers, and will be ready for subsequent developments. TSMC’s total investment in Arizona is thus brought to $65 billion, and it is the largest investment ever made by a foreign company on a new project on American soil.
